Puerto Rico has a lot of places that you can visit. There are places that one can go to for enjoyment, and there are places that one can go to to learn about Puerto Rico's history. What many people do not realize is that many of these historical sites are part of American history as well as Puerto Rican history.

El Moro-

El moro lies in the northwestern-most point in San Juan Puerto Rico. It's construction began in 1539, and was completed in 1589. It's purpose was to defend the port in San Juan. It is now a historical site that can be visited.


El Parque de Bombas

El Parque de Bombas is located in the city of Ponce. It was the first fire house of the island. It is one of the most recognizable sites on the island, and is now a museum.


El Yunque


El Yunque is a rain forest. It is a cool, mountainous, sub tropical rainforest that is locate on the Eastern side of the Luquillo Mountains. El Yunque is located at the top elevations and gets most of the rain. Many people go here to see rare species of plants and animals. Other use the forest as we would use any park. They ride bikes there, and take hikes.

Toro Negro-

Toro Negro is another rainforest located in the central region of the island. There are trails that take you to the top of the island where one can see both sides of the island.
